Buruj Academy fortify team ahead foreign tour
The management of Lagos-based Buruj Sports Academy has stepped up preparations ahead of the team’s proposed participation in the Dubai and Manchester Super Cup competitions scheduled for the United Arab Emirates and England respectively in April.
Towards this end, the team has been fortified with the inclusion of two brothers Ntong Godwin who plays as a central defender and Ntong Lucky Ebere, an attacker.
A visibly excited CEO of the Academy, Dr Salaudeen Waheed couldn’t conceal his happiness at the arrival of the two players.
He said: “I’m happy to have these boys join us from Benin City though they’re from Akwa Ibom state. I’m impressed with their attitude, commitment to the game and willingness to learn. They have shown that they can only get better and better having joined Buruj Academy.”
Dr Salaudeen also revealed that he’s optimistic that the boys will add something different to the team and that he looks forward to the foreign tour.
“I’m sure the boys will strengthen us and help us to do better when we get to Dubai and Manchester in April. They came into the team and already you can tell that our game has improved with them. We can look forward to our trip with confidence,” he said.
Buruj Sports Academy are billed to participate at the two tournaments in Dubai and Manchester as well as the Welsh Super Cup in Wales later in August.
They were the only team in Africa to participate at the tournaments in 2016 and they are set to repeat the feat this year.
