Buruj Academy gets visa approval for UK tripAll is now set for the participation of Buruj Sports Academy at this year’s International Cup in Manchester after the team’s visa application was granted on Friday.
The team had made an application for its 21-man contingent for the annual global tournament which is to hold in the city of Manchester in England.
A delighted CEO of the Academy, Dr Salaudeen Waheed expressed his appreciation to all those who played a part in making it possible to get the visas.
He said: “I want to specially thank the staff at The British High Commission as well as His Excellency the High Commissioner, the TLS Contact team that handled our applications as well as Terry O’Neil and his Team Tours Direct who are the organisers of the tournament for giving us the opportunity to be a part of it.”
Dr Salaudeen also had kind words for all the sponsors and supporters of the team for their efforts to make the trip become a reality.
“I must confess it wasn’t easy getting here because of the different challenges we faced but I must thank all our sponsors and supporters for being there for us when we needed them. They did beyond my expectations and I’m eternally grateful,” he continued.
Finally, the CEO promised that the boys will justify the confidence reposed in them by doing very well at the competition to make Nigeria proud.
“We shall do everything humanly possible to do well at the competition. We have our aims and objectives of going to the tournament and I’m very sure we shall realise them all.”
Buruj Academy are the only team from Nigeria at the annual competition which parades teams from more than 20 countries from around the world.
