Buruj boss jets out to UK ahead Dubai and Manchester Super Cups
The trip is part of activities geared towards a successful participation in this year’s Dubai International Super Cup in the United Arab Emirates as well as the Manchester Cup both coming up in April this year.
While in the United Kingdom, Dr Waheed will meet with Terry O’Neill, chairman of Team Tours Direct who are the organisers of the Super Cup series in order to formalise documentations for the team’s participation also at the Welsh Super Cup in Wales later in August.
Buruj Sports Academy are the only team from Africa to attend both the Dubai and Welsh legs of the Super Cup series last year and the management of the high-riding Academy is leaving no stone untouched to ensure another successful outing at both events this year.
“We saw the benefits that accrued to us because of our participation last year and we are committed to going again this year. We had scouts who came to watch our boys play and a couple of them were able to secure European deals. As an organisation we also benefitted immensely from understudying the global best practices of how an ideal Academy should be run. We cannot afford not to be a part of it again,” Salaudeen said ahead of his trip.
He also showered encomiums on Team Tours Direct and its chairman who he claims has displayed nothing but the highest level of integrity in his dealings with the Academy.
He said: “O’Neill is one man I have a lot of respect for because of his professionalism and discipline. I don’t regret knowing him and its always a pleasure doing business with Team Tours Direct. I look forward to my meeting with him.”
Buruj Sports Academy are the current holders of the Olodo Golden Cup and are desirous of adding the Super Cups to their collection.
