– Reiterates Importance Of Sports As Vehicle For Social Development

The CEO of Buruj Sports Academy, Salaudeen Waheed, has once again launched a passionate appeal to government at all levels, corporate organisations and well-meaning individuals to invest in sports development from the grassroots as a means of curbing criminality and unemployment in the country.
According to the well-travelled and sports-loving founder of the academy that has been operating for close to ten years, Nigeria as country is well blessed with natural talents who are only waiting to be unearthed, groomed and exposed but many of them will waste away or become liabilities in their environment except help come from somewhere.
He was speaking against the backdrop of his boys recent showing in Dubai where they featured and emerged as winners of the TTD Trophy Cup. They are also the defending champions of the English Super Cup which they won in Manchester last year.
“We have a mission of transforming our country’s sporting landscape by using football to give meaning to the life of indigent boys before they are frustrated to embrace criminality.”
“That is why we are calling on people in government, corporate organisations and individuals whom God has blessed to join hands with us and help those boys.”
“We have been working with them over the years and anytime we feature in competitions, the whole world believe that we have talents in abundance. They only need to be scouted, trained and exposed to become professionals in a not too distance future,” he said.
