After their scintillating 3-1 win over Pro Soccer Academy from London in the opening game of the 2017 International Super Cup in Manchester, Buruj Sports Academy are set for a double-header against New Saints Academy and Future Elevens on MatchDay 2 of the competition.

The boys from Nigeria began their quest to win the tournament with Dim Chinonso Nazareth’s hat-trick which helped them to overcome their opponents in the first game and sent spectators and other teams talking about them.

Speaking from Manchester, CEO of the Academy, Dr Salaudeen Waheed said the team is not under pressure but will take each game as it comes until the end of the tournament when they hope to emerge champions.

“It is one game at a time for us. The fact that we have been here before is also helping us to focus on what is important and to avoid any distractions. We are determined to end the competition on a high and that, for us, will be to win it. We can do it. We shall certainly do it,” he said.

The competition will round up on the 30th with the finals of all the categories being played. Buruj Academy are the only Nigerian side participating in the globally-acclaimed competition which draws participants from over 20 countries and is organised annually by Team Tours Direct.
