Buruj Sports Academy recruits two new players
As preparations for their foreign tour intensifies, the management of Buruj Sports Academy have announced the arrival of two new players into the team to strengthen some areas where they seemed to be lacking adequate cover.
According to a release personally signed by the CEO of the Academy, Dr Salaudeen Waheed, the arrival of the players signals an important milestone in the team’s preparations and general development.
“We are pleased to announce the arrival of Ignatius Akuba (an attacking midfielder) and Chris Shevy (defensive midfielder) into the Buruj Sports Academy family.
” These latest additions to our squad is a pointer that the team is always looking to improve on performances by searching for and recruiting young but very talented players who are willing to learn and ready to put their undoubted talents at the disposal of the Academy.
“Akuba and Shevy have been brought in to plug the holes which the coaching crew have identified in the team’s midfield department and their contributions since joining us is proving that it was a wise decision to bring them in.
“We hope to have them available for our next game, a friendly encounter against Hyraj Football Club at the Agege Stadium on Thursday 9th March, 2017 by 8am. We implore all our fans to come out and cheer their darling team during the game.
“We are also willing to take on any player who shows the required talent, discipline and willingness to learn as we countdown to our participation at the Dubai Super Cup as well as the Manchester Cup in the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom next month. If you think you have what it takes, you can come and have a tryout with us today.”
It will be recalled that Buruj Sports Academy were the only team from sub-Saharan Africa to participate at the Dubai Super Cup last year and they’re set to make Nigeria proud again this year in one of the world’s most popular youth football tournaments.
