Buruj Sports face Kakaki FC in Friday friendly
The Oworonsoki playground will host the friendly match between home side Kakaki FC and Buruj Sports Academy on Friday at 4pm.
The game is in continuation of Buruj Academy’s buildup to their proposed foreign trip coming up in April as well as to prepare for the 2017 Federation Cup which the team has already registered for.
As part of the buildup, Buruj Academy bowed 2-0 to the superior firepower of Hyraj Football Club at l Ijora Olopa on Tuesday morning.
A goal towards the dying minutes of each half ensured victory for Hyraj but CEO of Buruj Sports Academy Dr Salaudeen Waheed declared that the scoreline did not reflect the output of his boys which he described as very please.
“This is a very young team and we are deliberately exposing them to bigger and more experienced opponents no because of the tasks they’re likely going to face when they go for competitions. I’m impressed by the performance even if the result was not what we wanted. I’m sure these boys can go places and I want to ensure them that they’ve come to the right place to improve their game.”
Head coach Taiwo Oloyede also praised the players efforts and ascribed the loss to lack of concentration at critical moments in the game.
“We lost due to inexperience. We could have been three goals up if the boys had taken all the chances created. They’re young and willing to learn and together we will do great things together,” he said.
A lot of other teams are also in line to play friendly games with Buruj Academy before the team’s departure for United Arab Emirates and United Kingdom for the Super Cup in April.
