In continuation of their buildup to trip to the United Kingdom to participate in this year’s edition of Manchester Cup, Buruj Sports Academy will square up against Ighalo FC, bankrolled by Nigeria and Changchun Yatai of China striker, Jude Odion Ighalo, this Thursday, February 1st.
The match which is expected to kick off by 10.00 am at the famous Maracana Field, Tolu Complex, Olodi-Apapa, Ajegunle, will be used to test the new faces in Buruj Sports Academy and also ascertain the level of match-readiness of those who have been in camp for quite a while.
While previewing the game, the CEO/MD of the academy, Dr. Salaudeen Waheed, disclosed that he is expecting the current Super Eagles strikers’ sponsored team to give his boys a good game in a highly competitive environment but was quick to add that it wouldn’t be approached with ‘win at all cost mentality’ to avoid unnecessary injuries.
He also used the opportunity to reiterated the unflinching commitment of his management team to build and present a strong side filled with young and talented players during the competition being organised by Swansea-based Team Tours Direct.
He however enjoined interested players to seize the time of grace before the expiration of deadline day, which is 7 days away from now, to come forward and show their true potential as they still stand the chance to make the cut.
